the final weeks...

Here we are... 2mo after the last post... my how time flies in retrospect... despite how it sometimes feels in the present... as dearest hubby reminds me... one day at a time (that's a lot of days!) :) boy i sure am getting lots of good "patience building" experiences this year! hee hee! and do i ever need it! we're just shy of 37wks, so little baby z is coming soon (relatively speaking) and we're as ready as we can be. i've been having little talks with him (dilbert)... just letting him know that as sooooooooon as he's developed and surfactant at appropriate levels in the lungs, then COME ON OUT! we have lots of cozy fleece, LOVE, people (and puppers) to meet, paths/streets/trails to explore in the BOB, and FUN to have! so no sense in staying squished inside aaaaany longer than absolutely necessary for safety/development! at least, in my opinion! we'll see how it all goes.

i'm still able to run but slowly... running uphill is noticeably faster than flats and downs, i'd say. simply due to maintaining comfort much longer... i like longer walking warmups... and enjoy walking cool downs at the end... often a couple walking breaks within. i'm covering far fewer miles in my hour-70min, but it's fine. if i go for miles (on days off work), i have a more SIJoint discomfort... but sometimes i get that anyway after my 30-60min power walks anyway... so who knows. lifting is fine... i stopped yoga around 31-32 wks because the belly wasn't very excited about fwd bends, twists, or the speed of the new yoga instructor that took over for the one that left for maternity leave (she was 5 wks ahead of me and excellent!)... so i do my own stretching... tho not with as much compliance.

hubby found a great job here locally... just about 15min from home, 40-50hrs per week (as opposed to MANY more when he was travelling all the time), no travel, and good benefits! we are so thankful! only took 2 months... and we don't have to move or try to sell the condo with all the competition in the area (nothing's selling yet). we've gotten to attend the alma mater's FB games with various members of the fam... fun depsite the outcomes... and he gets to play BB with the local friendlies once/wk. added plus: we feel like being social since we DO get to see each other ea day/nite, so that's fun to expand our social scene a bit, and our weekends feel like bonuses rather than all we have. it's LOVELY! and will be SO NICE in a few more weeks when babyz makes his debut.

we enjoyed the BB tourney and gathering at the manor in the couv... and caught a UW/UP men's game later that eve... fun game... unfortunate outcome... great seats anywhere in that house... and RV man narrowly won the bet that allowed him to avoid running a 1/2 marathon with the rest of us in june... we'll have to come up with another way to get him in on that one... and for those interested in the newly forming rondy at one of the rocknroll marathon/0.5marathon locations early this summer, email us... we'll fill ya in! sounds like should be a great group for both distances!

my mom came out for a week and helped us organize and figure out how to best fit the little one into our guest room... she did some fabulous cooking (some for the freezer and some for immediate consumption)... YAY!... and we had fun shopping, looking, running/walking, eating, and celebrating at the wonderful baby shower hosted by my best girl running/partner/friend/fris player and another great frisbee friend. we had about 20 ladies there (including a few young'uns), scrumptious cake (3 types!), a onesie decorating extravaganza, advice and recipe sharing, and some lovely gifts. i'm so thankful to each one who had time to attend... it was really special and most enjoyable. some pics will be posted at some point.

we now look fwd to thanksgiving with jtt, jl, and auntiem. the rest of the crew on hubby's side has other plans in far off states, so we'll be rondy'ing with them at other times. thanksgiving also marks the start of my sabbatical!!!!! and let me tell you JUST how excited i am to say i have only 5 days of work left after today... WHOOO WHOOOOOOO! THAT'S my countdown! i enjoy work, but after 10 yrs, i'm really psyched to have a break! prevent full burn out... etc. so let me just share another WHOOOO WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! thank you dear hubby, for giving me this opportunity!!!

my sister and pooch will visit us for awhile after turkey day, which should be a blast... and then it's a matter of waiting for dilbert to arrive... would be GREAT if he chose to come while she is here... how special (and helpful) that would be! our good friend, tractor buddy, is pulling for dec 3... another friend is scheduled for a total hip that same day in the same hospital so dec 3 is his choice as well... so who knows!

mom and dad are waiting in the wings for the call to say we're heading to LnD... then the frequent fliers will fly! yeeeeeehawwwwwwwww!

so there ya have it... the update!

cheerio and drop us a line sometime... and forgive me for the things i've missed above...
