greetings! i've always been a little jealous of those little "lilypie" age counters that people have on their blogs to chart their pg or baby's age... but i have no idea how you find that or get it on your blog page... hey, i can do that almost as good in my titles, right?? that's how creative i am! yeeehawww! so there ya have it.
we're having the most splendid weather again... man... i'm just LOVING it! i'm trying to overdress him less for our bob runs and walks... he's had his first moby jaunt (approx 2-3blocks)... and he's made it 20 and 30 min in the baby bjorn... he's NOT into the face towards the chest that is mandatory at this age.. he MUCH prefers the facing out position and isn't afraid to let you know... so... we have to be extra vigilant on the head control... and pretty much just stick with holding him in that position with our arms = his head rests on our chests... rather than with the carriers.
i'd say i've gotten my money's worth out of the bob... i should have put some kinda odometer on it... that would be interesting. and we're just getting started!

BabyJ's 8th week was a week of firsts... we had our first road trip--but unfortunately it was for sad but comforting reasons... Greatgrandmadz passed on... J didn't get to meet her on this side of the womb, but she had many encouraging thoughts when he was almost here (Thanksgiving)... boy are we thankful for that time we had. Here he is with GreatgrandpaRZ. We have a few other pics of the 4 generations with rz, jz, sz, and little jz.
He did sooooo very good with the road trip... we're not afraid to take another one... we just have to add several extra hours depending on how many feeding periods it goes through. :)

after we returned from oroville, babyj had another first... his first cold... poor little guy... only 1.5 really bad days where he was just a sack of potatoes with red eyes and a "please hold me" look... but he made it... and got to postpone the first of his vaccinations by a few weeks... which was fine with mommy...
well, indeed, he's 9.75ish weeks old and i'm amazed at the fact we're still plugging along and he's growing heartily and getting all extra cute... i mean, he was super cute before, but geesh! add some more smiles and almost giggle type noises and some extra octaves on the upper register (cooing, not crying, of course) and some tongue skills while smiling... and one fist two fist red fish blue fish into the mouth at will now... boy oh boy! i can see the toes coming up higher and higher a his hip mobility and ab strength continues to improve ... he's gonna discover those toes sooner or later... a little later according to common baby development standards, but i'm helping it along. so far, no sign if recognition. ;) he bangs his head against my jaw or cheek bone less now in the upright burping position, which is a nice bonus for both of us... so i guess the head control is progressing. lalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... remember, this post is especially for grandparents who live far away, so i have to fill them in on the nitty gritty!

some interesting things about babyj...
1. when nursing, he does NOT like for me to be distracted... by his daddy talking, by a dog barking, by the phone ringing, etc... it is HIS time, OUR time, and by golly, if i stop making my googly eyes at him and cooing along with him, i get a TALKIN to!
2. when nursing, he also doesn't like to be distracted by his stomach grumbling... gas bubbles moving, liquid passing through all those GI tubes, or etc... THAT gets a furious response too... tho short-lived if somehow the gas can make its way out... long-lived, if not. poor tummy!
3. so all in all, nursing is quite interesting and tho we do have some very peaceful picturesque experiences, it typically involves a period of intense vocalizations, writhing mvmts, and "discussions" by baby to whatever is disrupting his groove.
4. bath time and changing table time is a fabulously interesting, smile inducing, leg pumping, fist sucking, tongue wagging, eye bugging, booty shakin' good time!
5. when in doubt, face out.
6. the mimicking starts early.
7. dancing matilda and the whole cd is still magic... but amos lee has some serious power as well. and the french cafe cd's... and the french playground cd.
8. we've had to retire 4 outfits (footie romper/sleepers) now cuz he's getting SO BIG!!! at the 8wk check: 10#4oz, 22.5in long, and head 40.5cm. we're on the middle to the lower 1/4 of the charts, but that's just fine with us! heck, my biceps aren't ready for any 100%ile!
9. llama llama red pajama is a super cool book! gotta check out the others now!
