We have a busy busy beaver in our house... and he's still quite frustrated with not being able to MOVE big distances and GO places by himself and CRAWL and WALK and RUN and who knows what else! He's intense in his activities and has no trouble expressing his delight, curiosity, irritation... he's showing the people in mtg just how high of a frequency it's possible to get those baby vocal cords to vibrate... suddenly... followed by lots of hoots and fake coughs and smiles and shy looks... new meaning to "shock and awe"... but wooing the whole way... those mtg ladies... and a few of the guys, too, just swoon when he gives them a big cheeser... ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa, he says. his chattiness is not new to us at home... but evidently, he's becoming more comfortable in those mtg places... and less shy with the mtg folks... so it's beginning to be REVEALED more in public! boy oh boy are we gonna have fun in a few more months... and years!

he loves to roll from back to tummy, both directions... but is very selective on when he will actually roll back to his back... still not a fan...

he loves to sit for awhile... plays with talking puppysue, stacking cups (which he likes to rant and rage at after awhile...??? who knows!), froggie, and herman the snorkling turtle... he also likes to play with his sound puzzle... particularly the racecar/motorcycle/firetruck/etc one... well, mama "plays" with it, he beats on it with his hands and makes loud noises if i don't make the next sound come on fast enough.

he's well into his 6mo clothes... some 9monthers as well...

standing is fabulous... plays with water in the sink--feeties and toes and hands, the faucet, his reflection in the shiny metal is always fun to watch him seek out... bath time is still serious but quite enjoyable, it seems...
he loves to watch hb move from spot to spot for optimum napping and bone chewing... he's quite intrigued by the cars and birds that pass by the deck... and he smiles so big when hb barks... after startling... he greets daddy with a big smile when he comes home from work... and is just generally a delight!
we're gearing up for convention in another week... we get to see cousins, aunties and uncles, great grandpa, both grandpas and grandmas, new terrain... oh the adventures we will have!!! had a wonderful time at the memorial day picnic... glorious weather... some fun time with ultimaterunnergirl... i'm just loving these days!!!
after convention, grandmamaj is coming for 1.5weeks while i work full days... i'm not sure i can handle being away from my sweet boy that long every day... sigh... but he'll be in great hands...
we had our first sampling of rice cereal (maybe 1/3 of a teaspoon when it was all said and done)... his facial expressions were priceless... but i couldn't quite capture them with the camera... didn't look like he was that psyched about the taste, but he kept opening his mouth for more... hilarious! we'll try some avocados next, perhaps... maybe some sweet potatoes... i'm hoping to keep things pretty simple (i.e., minimal food other than mamas milk) until after convention... then we'll forge headlong into the discovery process... i'm also hoping to make most of it myself at this point... we'll see how that goes.
he also has enjoyed "big boy" rides in the bob at leisurely walking paces... i still use the carseat set up for runs... much more stable for his sleeping head... he sure likes looking around at the trees and leaves...
