10d old and merry xmas eve!

(caption: such sweet little baby feeties!)

Well--here we are, 10 days older, not sure how much wiser, but at least we're figuring a few things out... at least until they change! babyJ is a joy--so cute and snuggly--for any children of the 80s... "cute cute, little baby, little feeties, little toes... " name that tune and group! i'm not sharply remembering the rest of the lyrics in proper order so i'll stop there. :)

Granpapaj and grandmamaj are relishing in their role here despite the most snow/ice in 40+yrs = our metro area has essentially been shut down since grandpapaj arrived... so he's been a little restless, but one look at babyJ seems to make every little thing alright... just like bob marley sings about the 3 little birds!

gpa/gmaz arrive later today if the roads/weather will allow--the big city north has had it worse than here i guess... and we're hoping for safe and sound ... holiday dinners can be enjoyed on ANY day, not just prescribed days... and so we'll wait and see... babyj will be working hard at eating, alert awakeness, and sleeping until they arrive... i'm sure his cuteness will just keep growing... ha ha ha ha ha!!! i'm a new mom... i think i can say things like that and not get into trouble for at least a little while. :)

discoveries:

-putamayo makes totally awesome cd's (i knew this already) especially this one "world kids" disc with some very cool songs from all over the world... reggae, aboriginal, scottish/irish, french, cajun, american, etc... and babyj's fav song is an aboriginal version of waltzing/dancing matilda... so we've allllllll been singing that lately... even dear hubby at work... which might not be the perfect song for a mfg engineer, but...

-gas vs hunger vs poopoo vs overtired vs etc all have very similar starts and middles with some variations in accents, pitches, and durations. :) no tears yet, but still really pulls at your heart to see alllllll that energy in the form of red face, toothless wide mouth, and balled up fists! thankfully, they haven't lasted long at all... can't imagine how my mom did it with me and colic for a year where that's all i did... geesh!

-i want to have that zealous of a hunger for the true milk of the word...

-hb is a wonderful guardian of me and babyj when he starts making a few squeaks

-i now remember why in college i wrote EVERYTHING down in a daily planner... cuz i didn't sleep "8hrs" back then, and somehow i still remembered everything i needed to (i think)... well i've gotten out of the "write everything down" habit since my sleeping has been so much better in the post-college years... until now... and now, i can't remember something i tell dearhubby i'll do from one minute in the phone conversation to the end of the conversation a min. or two later... i can't blame it on pregnancy brain... it's so much worse than latter pg... so... gotta get some more paper and a pen!!

all that guardianing is hard work! zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

happiest of holidays to you all! and a wonderous 2009!

come see us if you're passing through... we have foutons and daybeds if you don't want to share the guest room with babyJ and take over nite time duties... :) hee hee! just kidding! or am i!? depends on the day and pattern! just keep in mind there are no "full nite sleeps" around here anymore...

cheers!--skjhz
