All dressed up to go for a swim... thanks to REI... gear testin' for the trip to the lake up north in a few weeks... poor kid's gonna lack some vit D with this get up... oh well... less sunscreen application... we'll take care of that mug, don't you worry! ;)
Given that our big boy baths (with mma mmaa) in the tub have been splashfully enjoyable, we thought we'd take advantage of the fabulous summer weather and the condo pool that we'd never been to... ahhhh... consistent 90+ for a week keeps the pool nice and toasty... i could even just walk right in (usually takes me 5-10 min to get in those "cold" pools--swimming lessons were a bear when i was a kid!).
He was quietly observant for awhile... watching the other little kiddos play with their balls and goggles and toys... and then the splashing (self-generated) commenced... but he's always sooooo serious... even when whacking away at the water... it's serious bidness! we didn't stay too long... but it was fun while we were there... and resulted in a 2hr20min nap later that afternoon... the pool had to have helped... as did the fact that he's decided early mornings are FUN! i kinda liked that "sleeping in until there were 8's on the front of the clock" thing we had going for awhile... (with one or two night/dawn feeds thrown in there for good measure, of course).
we had a lovely visit from our recently married runnergirl pal hjt from "the ci-tay by the bay-ee-ay-ay" (name that tune)... in town for a conference... had a lovely run+too brief farmer's mkt stop, shared some tasty berries and etc, and sent her off to learn great things.
happily joining us for sunday lunch! hb, begging-growling-talking for a small morsel of steak, is just out of view of the camera.
this is just after about 3 min of laughing at daddy as he looked at him and looked away... looked at him and looked away... ohhhhh so funny!!! :) if i could figure out how to load videos on this thing, i would, but alas... shutterfly and facebook it is.
on the way to mtg this morning he was exploring the differences between mmma and nnaa... repeatedly... sooooo cute! he exaggerates the mouth motions and lip involvement of the "m" each time... darling. so now we have 2 consonants. these are nice additions to the ear-piercing variety of shrieks and shrill squeals... operatic ranges... disco call ooo-ehh ooo-ehh... etc.
mwa mwa and it's off to the sack!
