Hmmmmm.... seems like i'm on the "monthly plan" with writing and posting pics... I knew it was getting too long when my MOM started overtly hinting it was time to update the blog. :) hee hee! We've had some fun lately... he's extra funny, crazy, loud when daddy is home on the wknds... he is "all done" with mommy the second daddy walks in... very cute.... his "all done" is so clear that it CANNOT be mistaken... especially in Wed and Sun mtgs when you're trying to figure out things to keep him busy and quiet as a church mouse... all done with cheerios... all done with raisins... all done with that book, and that one, and that one and... sigh. :) speaking of sighs... pay attn next time you're in mtg... when someone comes in and sits down, they get their books out, take off coat, etc, sit down, and usually let out this nice large deep breath (like a sigh)... so now, j does that... except then he repeats it... 10 or so times... or more during mtg. ;) but everyone in our mtg does that (including me, i've noticed) upon arrival! :) funny.
we've had our first messy foray (sp?) into self feeding applesauce with a spoon... he wouldn't let me do it... he had his first "lick off the spatula" experience with my first homemade cheese sauce attempt... a little bland... he liked it tho... :) forks are still good for stabbing things (peanut butter toast, veggies, eggs, occasionally meat, etc)... tho fingers end up preferred by littleman... he's figuring out if you wing forks around really fast stuff eventually does come flying off... hb the pooch really likes that trick. ;)
he's getting better with the cruising (walking hanging onto furniture) and has even done that with the hard floor quiet sweeper a couple times... and his big tonka truck many times... he'll walk with your fingers for a bit... but then he's "all done" and sits down and will NOT do it anymore. :) some day... still not concerned... all the mechanics are there... but i think j's thinking... hmmm... falling is gonna hurt, soooooo... i'm a really fast crawler. ;)
in this pic, he'd pushed the sweeper all the way across the kitchen, i turned it around, and he was on his way back when he declared "all done" as i was snapping the pic... reached out for the fridge, and sat down. :) no more walking. :)
his standing balance is much improved... and his deep squats from standing are getting better... hilarious to see that little diaper butt going down/up... :)
he LOVES to see the garbage/recycling trucks go by on fri mornings... he'll stop doing anything else and crawl super fast over to the window to see... then say "ut ut ut ut" =

he points to the sky and says muh muh for "mooon" and can pick out moons in books/stories...
he says "wuh wuh" for a doggie... that is, when he doesn't do his special hana noise that cannot be deciphered into written language... :)
he likes to "hide" objects under his leg or under your leg and then hold his hands in the air as if to say "where is it"... and he'll do the same motion if he can't find the moon in the sky (cloudy)... or if daddy or hb have disappeared out of sight...

the vacuum is still number one... but closely followed by the toaster (which i don't let him play with, but he loves pb toast in the mornings with a dash of cinnamon, so he gets to see it work every day... therefore, the rest of the day, he goes to the pantry repeatedly saying "est est est est x 100)... i think daddy's i-phone may come in closely, but... not sure it competes over time... keys... they're pretty cool, too... blankie is definitely number one... still. :)
we had a lovely visit from our good friends ajpg from ak!!! YAY! the mommies got to do a long run (5h) in the gorge while the boys all played... then we all enjoyed tasty birthday/valentines dinner at cls in the nw23rd area... LOVELY... followed by special desserts from papa haydens... tasty masty! we continued celebration of jg's bday at sweet tomatoes and with whole foods cupcakes on the actual bday. it was soooooooo fun to have them here! unfortunately, sz spent the weekend sick and mostly in bed... arrgh.
it does continue to be seen that j's "social" skills need some work... he definitely has a LARGE personal space circle when his toys and other little people are involved. :) hee hee! ahhh, the joys of learning!~ by the end of their visit, tho, he was giving little pg some nice back pat pats... soooo gently! :) a nice upgrade from the earlier stiff-arms!
sz is still really enjoying work... hopefully someday we'll live in the same town during the week again... i know j will REALLY be glad! no bites on the condo, but we had two showings this week.
i continue to greatly appreciate ultimatebestfriendrunnergal's watching/playing with j once a week while i go to PT and get a run in... looking fwd to running/walking with her again soon! but coffee/lunch/chat is fun, too!
we're getting some fabulous sun in pdx this week... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... soakin' it up!
