Addendum or 3 or 4...13months...

Wow... how could i forget a few of our biggest or most special things!!!!!!!

1. As of His 13month + 2 day birthday, I am no longer a breastfeeding woman... I never thought I'd last that long... and yet, as it came closer to end, I realized that for the time being, it was easier to continue than to stop... on so many levels... hence... 13months and 2 days. YAY! And he doesn't seem to mind at all...

because...
2. i finally figured out he doesn't like whole milk... at all... gives his nasty taste face every time... won't have more than 2 sips from any type of cup or bottle or sippy or etc... he doesn't like 1%... he doesn't like them mixed... but VOILA! he likes 2%! and prefers it from a bottle... when he first wakes up and before going to bed... the last two nursing times to go... so... i figured... well... in the interest of calcium and vit D, let's start there and work back to our cups! i found it surprising as he hasn't had a bottle in ages... i haven't pumped in ages... haven't needed to with work hours and etc... so... anyway... evidently it's the sucking he still likes but doesn't "need" in the form of ME necessarily! so YAY!

3. i'm not really working on his bilingualism as my french is fairly cavewomanish due to the fact that i'm stuck in present tense... i've forgotten how to conjugate verbs on a large scale... however, i do like to slip a few words from other languages in there... including our own j(my maiden name) language in there... mostly courtesy of my sister's creativeness over the years... because it's fun! so... when it's easy, i say things in a french and english... occasionally spanish, of which i know very little... plus the two german phrases my late gpaj taught me (did you have a good sleep last nite? it's raining) ... BUT... i swear when j waves goodbye, he says "au revoir" with french pronunciation! and that's not a word i've used with him at all... i just think it's funny ... and so true... and so very montessori research... that a baby learns ANY LANGUAGE... whatever he's around... and i'm not saying he's around french... i just mean... for a baby, they don't know that certain sounds go with certain languages or that they're saying something "foreign"... they just play with their mouth and voice and volume and inflection and things come out! when he was under 6mo, a korean patient told me he sounds just like he's speaking korean... then made a joke about her native language that i can't remember and if i did it would probably sound bad coming from me... but... isn't it soooo cool? i mean... by the time we're adults we've learned all these rules and etc... which is good and helpful... but at the same time, it's equally fabulous that our little ones haven't just yet... yay for no boundaries at this age! :) ok, that was a long ramble... but i'm promoting "au revoir" from now on. :) and i need to start taking refresher french lessons. and intro spanish lessons. and and and...

4. one of my sweetest and most favoritest things he's started doing with me just this past week... (since being done nursing... coincidence???)... is after his nightime milk... i give him his blankie and stand up and rock and sing his lullaby song... with his blankie stuffed in his mouth, he'll take his two little hands and cup the back of my face/neck and touch our faces together... sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! he holds us like that for a few sec... sometimes does it twice, then grabs the blanks back with his hands, readjusts his chomping spot, and is ready for me to put him in his crib. awwwwwwww! gets me all teary every time. :) gotta cherish moments like these, eh??

ok.... no more addendums today... i'm sure i'm still forgetting things i want to remember, but... will have to remember again...
