if you want a bit of an insight on why i run... why i gravitate towards the long, mountain, crazy races or runs with friends... read a blog by Jill Homer... an endurance bicyclist.

the blog called "why"... written today? 8/19/10.
towards the end, she really captures why choose/run the really difficult stuff and why not just pound out intervals and do lots of specific training to maximize speed, etc... why choose the mtns and alaska and crazy weather and etc... why not choose courses/distances you can really excel at (i.e. higher finish placement, age group wins, etc).
it's truly about the experience... the art of it... tho i don't think in "art" terms... just being out there completely submersed/immersed in nature, God's amazing creation. i love how small i feel there.
