Well, it turns out that I'm taking more pics on my phone than I am on my camera... and the phone is much more time intensive to upload to the computer than the camera... perhaps because I don't know the easy way to do it... alas... I'll be including camera pics from this fall...

SZ had a big work trip to Toronto for the month of October, so J and I found 2 dogsitters (one for the first 12 days, and one for the next couple weeks) to mind the hound, and off we jetted as well. We spent the first 4 days in Toronto (we = J and I... SZ spent the whole month there)... the first 2 were complicated by the fact that the airport hotel is a long, high traffic, tons of construction, distance from anything fun... j also stayed on PDT and was preferring to wake up at 930-10am... which is great, but hampers getting anywhere if you're trying to drive 
during non-millions-of-people-live-and-drive-here times. the 3rd and 4th day, we'd snag sz's car and head out on the town for the midday and be back to pick him up later on. SO... armed with snacks, running/park clothes, and a change of clothes for both of us (just in case) + the bob, and our necessary toys and accoutrements, we'd head for HIGH Park... the coolest HUGE city park in Toronto... for swinging, play structures, interacting with kids who spoke lots of languages... then we'd eat some snacks, pack up in the BOB, and head out on a run/walk for a couple hours during which (hopefully) J would catch a few winks. the park is right northish of the lakefront = a lovely paved bike path with more parks, birds, views, etc... 
we drove to OH that weekend, via Niagara Falls, to visit our dear friends in Akron... MUCH FUN was had there... SZ headed back to Toronto for the work week and J and I stayed for a few more days... and with 5 kids 5 and under (including J), MUCH energy was expounded and enjoyed by all... even if J was a little overwhelmed a few times by the concept that not only did he have to try to share immensely cool toys with ONE other kid, sometimes MORE than one kid... OMGoodness... he started running to me with a toy (asking me to Hooohd it mommy) if he thought someone else might want it... he also started snatching things sometimes... and hoarding... soooooo.... guess we're getting into the 2's. ;) hee hee! it was a great learning experience for him... and to this day, he still talks about his friends and wants to go see them. OH how i wish we lived closer! The adults even got in a fabulous yoga class, a trail run, and some wonderful conversations. what a treat!
J and I made our way (via EP's chauffeur service) to the GOOD LIFE state via a couple plane rides (which J loves, cuz he can have earphones... he doesn't listen to anything on them or really even use them in his ears... he just likes plugging them into every hole he can find... including ones on his keen shoes... and pretending to talk to uhma and papa on them... or singing his fav song "fav-uh tankthee" into them microphone style...
And with that flight, we enjoyed FABULOUS gma/gpaJ time... as well as a quick visit with my best high school friend and her kiddos... we also got to see KM and L as they helped the RedBull Human Pony Express runner complete his mission of running the pony express route from Sac-St Joe, MO... so that was a fun, random coincidence!
We visited a Fire Truck Museum, the K Kidzone Children's Museum, a Pumpkin patch with fainting goats/mini pony, donkey, dog, tractor, and corn pile (like a sandpile)... we watered things, helped gmaj carve a pumpkin, spent lots of evening hours POUNCING on papa... hung out with auntieree and puppySuz... made cake with gma... and so many other things... we weathered 30-45mph winds on a few days... makes running interesting... but otherwise had perfect weather for the whole trip! we even got to see uncleDandauntieP in BB... but despite uncleD's attempts, we did NOT want to ride or even rev the motor on his 4-wheeler... bummer for mommy. :) OH the fun!!!!!
We then concluded the month with a few days in my most favoritest state visiting with auntieree again, seeing baby NONO and his family, and our dear friend AS and a few of her boys... and then hopped the silverbird back to rainyville!
so here we are. i think hb has forgiven us for the most part... and j's ready to see his best girlfriends for some play time! mommy needs to get some fun things scheduled into our weeks as we prepare for the onslaught of a winter full of blech rain. i suuuurrrreee miss the 75, dry, and sunny of my favoritest state!

I have a hilly trail/dirt road marathon coming up this weekend... which was NOT adequately trained for by spending the last month in the flatlands... but that's ok... will still be fun to be there!
and the Huskers are doing well. :)
